Important Information for Parents

As the end of term is fast approaching, I wanted to share our arrangements to support the children and yourselves as parents and carers in their transition to the next year group in September.

On Tuesday 16th July, there will be an opportunity for you to visit the classrooms and meet the teachers in the year group that your child/ren will be moving up to. This will be from 3.30 – 4.30. There will be general information about the new routines and expectations for the year group, as well as examples of the expectations and standards of the curriculum. You will hopefully find this a useful opportunity to become familiar with the classroom environments and ask any general questions about the transition so that you are able to support your child/ren in the best way possible.

There will be plenty of signage and guidance around school to help you find the right areas of school on the day!

Other key dates / information:

Thursday 27th June, 9.30 – 11.30: Sports Day for all children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6

Thursday 4th July, 9.30 – 11.30: Sports Day for all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2

Friday 12th July: End of Year Reports sent home to parents / carers, including details of your child’s teacher for September. At this stage, staff in school will not tell the children who their next teacher will be and it is your choice if you choose to do so when receiving the report. We will tell the children on Monday 15th July

Tuesday 16th July: ‘shuffle up’ afternoon where children will spend time in their new classes with their new teacher. Children are to be collected from their new classrooms. Parent information session (as detailed above) to follow immediately afterwards in classrooms.

We look forward to working with you to make sure that the transition from your child’s current class into September is as happy and successful as possible.

With best wishes,

Mrs Pritchard

On Wednesday, a group of our KS1 children visited Telford College to engage in team-building and problem-solving activities. They all had a fantastic time.

Farewell to Mrs Simpson!

I have such mixed feelings to announce that one of Muxton’s longest-serving teachers, Mrs Angie Simpson will be leaving us at the end of this school year, after dedicating her entire 25 year year career as a teacher with us here at Muxton.

Throughout her time here at Muxton, Mrs Simpson has worked in different year groups across the school with her most recent years being in Year 1. As a dedicated and highly skilled teacher, Mrs Simpson has been such an integral and highly-valued part of the team for so many years.

I know that many children and families, as well as her team of colleagues here at Muxton, will want to express their gratitude to her and wish her well for the future.

With best wishes,

Mrs Pritchard 🙂

OFSTED – Well done and thanks to everyone!

We are very grateful that the sunshine is here to start the weekend after an extremely busy week here at Muxton!

You’ll be aware that OFSTED conducted a 2-day inspection in school earlier this week. Whilst the report will not be finalised and shared for some time, what I can share is how immensely proud I am of everyone in our school community who has contributed to the many successes which have been recognised and celebrated during the inspection.

As always, the children made us all incredibly proud. Our amazingly dedicated team of staff all deserve special praise and thanks for the incredible work they continue to do each and every day to ensure that children at Muxton get the very best education they can.

With thanks to all our parents and families for all your continued and contributions to our school, and especially over the course of the past week.

With best wishes to you all for a restful and happy weekend,

Mrs Pritchard 😊
