Just a reminder that the additional Flu immunisation visit will take place on Tuesday 12th December. This is only for those children who did not receive the vaccination when the NHS team first visited us on Wednesday 15th November.
We reissued forms to all parents/carers whose child didn’t receive the nasal flu vaccination. These forms need to be returned to the school office before this Friday 8th December.
We will be having our Christmas Lunch on Wednesday 20th December:
Children will be able to wear a Christmas Jumper on this day.
If you don’t have a Christmas jumper then any festive accessory would be welcome such as a Santa hat or tinsel in your hair.
School uniform is still to be worn please but with the Christmas jumper or festive accessory included.
This is a fun event to get us in to the festive spirit so we will not be asking for payment.

Thank you to those who have signed up to attend tomorrow’s concert. All who have applied have been allocated the number of tickets that have been requested. We had a large number of requests so we cannot guarantee a seat for everyone. There will be standing room at the back if needed.
The concert will begin at 2pm. Please turn right as you enter the school gates so you can enter the school hall via the double doors. Staff and signs will show the way. We are not distributing physical tickets but we will have your names on a list to check against.
You are welcome to take photos and video but these must not be shared on social media. We have a number of children across the school who must not have their image shared. Thank you for your support with this.

The Rocksteady bands have been practising hard for this term’s concert. The concert will take place on Thursday 7th December at 2pm in the school hall. The children will have chance to perform to some of the school in the morning as a practise and then the afternoon performance will be for parents and carers.

Bug Club is a powerful guided and independent reading programme with comprehension questions that is proven to raise attainment in reading, spelling and comprehension. It combines a library of stunning books with an online reading world that will help develop confident young readers.
Bug Club can be accessed on tablets, phones and computers; we have found that the App works best on Chrome and Microsoft Edge. Please remember to record that your child has read in Bug Club in their Reading Diary.
How Bug Club Works:
However, your child does need to read the questions carefully and use the text to help them answer the question correctly. Please don’t let them rush and guess the answer, the questions are as important as reading the book. Staff get a report on the percentage of questions answered correctly, the percentage answered correctly first time needs to be between 50 and 75% if the child is on track for the level they are reading. Children’s level of reading might need to be adjusted if the percentages are too low.

Dear Parents/Carers,
I wanted to thank those who have been in touch with the school following the flu immunisation visit this Wednesday.
The flu immunisation team have apologised that not all children received their vaccine on the day. The team are currently short staffed which is hindering their ability to manage the wide range of Primary and Secondary schools that they visit. Following a visit to a Secondary school there was limited time left in the day for some of the necessary checks that were required.
Working with the team we have been able to schedule an additional visit to take place on Tuesday 12th December. We fully acknowledge the concern you may have felt if your child did not receive a vaccine.
On Monday we will reissue the form as a hard copy to all parents/carers whose child didn’t receive the nasal flu vaccination. These forms will need to be returned to the school office no later than Wednesday 6th December please.
